Pre-purchase survey
Independent condition inspection before you commit, with defects, priorities and practical next steps.
Request this surveyRequest an independent marine surveyor in Mexico for a boat or yacht purchase, insurance, valuation, damage or specialist assignment. Matching starts with Baja California, the Sea of Cortez, Pacific mainland, Gulf or Caribbean coast, exact marina or yard, haul-out capability and any SEMAR inspection or certification requirement.
A pre-purchase inspection is not the same assignment as a tonnage measurement or commercial-code survey. We keep the scope clear from the beginning.

Not as a general assumption. Mexico’s boating regions are separated by long travel distances. Start with the vessel’s actual location and match competence, language and availability locally where possible.
No. Mexico’s maritime authority administers inspection and certification, and Mexican law permits authorised third-party inspectors for defined vessel inspections under authority supervision. Confirm the formal route before instruction.
Either may be available, but the report language, intended recipient, technical terminology and any required translation should be agreed directly with the surveyor.
Only when stated in writing. Yard fees, lift, wash, relaunch, flights or road travel, accommodation, skipper, fuel and specialist diagnostics may be separate.
The client appoints the independent surveyor directly and agrees scope, fee, timing and terms. Mexico Marine Survey provides information and introductions only.
Potential assignments include cross-border purchase inspections, new-build, refit & repair supervision, engine diagnostics & oil analysis, rig & mast inspections, moisture, osmosis & corrosion, damage, grounding & hurricane surveys, sea trials & delivery acceptance, semar inspection & certification work. Availability depends on the location, vessel and required specialist capability or formal appointment.
Select the country where the vessel is located, or send the exact port, marina or yard so the assignment can be reviewed.
Tell us the vessel, Mexican location and reason for the survey. We can help clarify access and report requirements before you request an introduction.
